Keats Scott – Fiber Artist

I’ve always made art of some kind or another.  I can’t imagine living without it, it keeps my sanity and me mentally engaged.

In 1978 I fulfilled a lifelong dream to live in Colorado.  My whole family moved from Chicago to Heeney on the Green Mountain Reservoir.  This world is my inspiration, even after all these years I’m still in awe of the area around me.

Most of the work is in the form of landscape scenes.  I capture light, color and form, translating it with fabric as my pallet. Fiber and stitch give a visual texture.  The goal is to have a piece that is pleasant to look at from a distance but draws you in to look closer.

Each piece is a challenge to me of some sort.  Capturing a view, using a fabric, conveying a mood.
